Thnks for Individual Users: Managing Your Account

Everything you need to know to manage your account as an individual user, from setting up payments to sending and managing your Thnks

When you’re running the show, Thnks helps you stay connected without slowing down. Whether you’re an independent professional, freelancer, or just someone who wants to send thoughtful gestures on your own… a Thnks account is easy to manage and personalize.

This guide walks you through everything you need to know to set up, fund, and manage your individual Thnks account.

Setting Up Your Account

If you’re signing up for Thnks on your own – not as part of a business or team – you can create a personal account using any email address.

Even if you already have a Thnks account as a part of another organization, you aren’t limited to a single account. You can create as many accounts as you’d like and easily toggle between them from your user icon in the top right corner of the screen, or using the “Switch Account” option in your profile menu.

Once your account is created, you’re ready to set it up with payment info and preferences.

Customizing Your Profile

Your Profile page is your command center. This is where you manage your personal information, payment methods, and account settings. To access it, click your user icon in the top right corner and select "Profile".

From your Profile, you can:

  • Add and edit payment information

  • Add and edit your contact phone number

  • Manage your email and notification settings

  • Report a problem or get help from Support

  • Delete or log out of your account

Customize your settings to your liking and make sure you keep them up-to-date.

Configuring Payment Options

To make things easy, there are multiple ways you can pay for your Thnks. Let’s talk about your options.

Adding or Updating a Card on File

First, you can add a personal card to pay for Thnks as you go. To add a new credit or debit card to your Thnks account:

  1. From your profile page, select “Add New Card”

  2. Add your card information, including the expiration date and CVC

  3. Click the “Add” button

You might want to pay for certain Thnks using different cards. So, if you have more than one payment method stored, choose which card to make your default payment method:

  1. After adding multiple cards, navigate to your Profile

  2. In the Payment Method section, select the card you wish to set as default

  3. Click “Set As Default"

This card will now be automatically selected when you fund your balance or send a Thnks.

Adding Funds to Your User Balance

You also have the option to fund a User Balance. This is where you can preload the dollars you’ll use to send gestures of appreciation, recognition, or connection.

To fund your balance:

  1. Navigate to your Profile and click “Add to Balance” to the right of “Your Balance”

  2. From the drop-down menu, select “Add new Card”, or select a credit card saved to your profile

  3. Select the dollar amount you would like to add, then click the “Add” button

  4. Your funds will now appear in your profile under “Your Balance”

Once you add a card, you can make changes anytime. To update your payment information, simply select the “Edit” button next to your existing card in the Payment Method section. If you’d like to remove this payment method, select the trash can icon.

Resetting Your Password

If you want to change your password, you can do so anytime from your profile settings. If you forgot your password and can’t access your account, you can reset your password here. From the Password Reset page:

  1. Enter the email address associated with your account

  2. Check your inbox for a message from Thnks containing a reset link

  3. Follow the steps to complete your password reset

⚡ If you suspect any suspicious activity on your account, immediately reset your password and remove any stored payment methods. If you suspect your account has been compromised and need more help, reach out to support@thnks.com or start a live chat using the chat logo in the bottom right corner of your screen.

How to Delete your Thnks Account

There are no fees associated with having a Thnks account, so keeping your account active won’t cost you anything. You will only be charged when you choose to send a Thnks.

But, if you no longer want to use Thnks, you can delete your account directly from your Profile settings. This action will delete all data associated with your account. Simply scroll to the bottom and click “Delete Account”.
